K2 MiniRail MK2 Set – Solar Panel Mounting Rail

The K2 MiniRail MK2 Set is a compact short-rail mounting system for fixing solar panels to suitable trapezoidal sheet-metal roofs.

Manufactured by K2 Systems, the MiniRail MK2 provides a practical alternative to using conventional full-length solar mounting rails. Its compact 385 mm length makes it particularly useful where short rail sections are preferred for direct fixing to suitable sheet-metal roofing.

The MiniRail MK2 can be used for vertical or horizontal solar panel installation when combined with the appropriate K2 module clamps and components. K2 specifies the system for suitable trapezoidal sheet-metal and sandwich-panel roofing applications.

What is included

Each K2 MiniRail MK2 Set, part number 2004211, includes:

• 1 × K2 MiniRail MK2 mounting rail
• 4 × thread-forming fixing screws
• Sealing washers

The fixing screws are 6 mm diameter, with the sealing washer forming part of the roof fixing system.

Roof compatibility

The K2 MiniRail MK2 system is intended for suitable trapezoidal sheet-metal roofing and can also be used with suitable sandwich-panel applications subject to the relevant requirements.

K2 specifies requirements including a minimum sheet thickness of 0.5 mm for steel or aluminium, a minimum crest width of 22 mm, and crest spacing of 101–350 mm depending on crest width. The system specification also gives a module frame-height range of 30–50 mm.
